    My follow up email:

    >Hi,
    >
    >Then why was it called the PokerStars Quiz 2009 $5 Reward
    Tournament and
    >promoted like a freeroll.
    >
    >The invite email said “You must have the ticket and $5 to play
    the
    >tournament.”
    >
    >Makes no mention of $5 entry fee and I met the required criteria
    had $5 in
    >my account and a voucher.
    >
    >Even though it is a small amount I really feel ripped off and
    feel I’m
    >entitled to a refund.
    >
    >In fact I feel so strongly about it that I would like PokerStars
    management
    >to be informed.

    The response:
As previously stated, the Player Quiz tournament required a $5.00 entry fee. Please note the Quiz itself was for players to secure their invitation to this otherwise private tournament. In addition players were notified of the $5.00 entry fee at the time of their registration.

In regards to your refund request, please note PokerStars accepts no liability for events a player they themselves have registered for. It is purely the player’s responsibility, when they register for a tournament, they ensure they read and agree to the tournament information available. That said, I have reviewed the tournament in question and see that you actively played in this event. As such we are unable to reimburse you for funds you have legitimately wagered at the tables

We do however appreciate your feedback regarding this recent promotion, and I have forwarded your thoughts onto our Poker Room management for future consideration.

    Hi Richard,

Totally Agree with you on this one, the name of the event was called the Player Quiz 2009 $5 Reward Tournament so no idea how they charged $5 entry for it.

I got my ticket voucher, “You must have the ticket and $5 to play the tournament” not that it really mentions that the $5 is entry fee, I took it that needed $5 in their account.

We would have never published this article had we have known there was a $5 entry fee + voucher, no one really cares that much if $20,000 was added to the pot.

I never realized as I joined the event late seating and clicked the voucher + $5 button and immediately sent support an email to no avail.

Here is a copy of my email and their reply:

    >Hi,
    >
    >I was charged $5 for the PokerStars Quiz 2009 $5 Reward Tournament
#220230963 and I wanted to use the voucher instead of cash.
    >
    >Please use the voucher and refund my $5.
    >
    >Thanks
    >
    >Leslie

    Response:
    Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

Please note, that the ticket itself was not the entry to the event. Players were still required to pay $5 to get in the tournament besides using the ticket.

Please let us know in case you need further assistance. We are here to help you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I have been going around with Poker Stars about this Quiz ticket thing for 24 hrs now! I answered all the question correctly and put in my correct username, and got no ticket!

    tuff luck they say!

    bad business I say!

300k quizzies and 17% correct they say!

49 thousand missing tickets I say!

    and now I see!

where the hell did it say on that quiz, that you had to pay $5.00 to play/win even if you got all the answers correct?

    I say NO WHERE!

and I add “A total crock of BS”
