So far there have been 32 bids which have increased the opening bid from $16k to $41k. Tony G is one of the bidders who claims he wants the bracelet for his dog, Zasko.

A few months back Peter Eastgate announced his retirement from the poker circuit due to lack of motivation, I suppose it is a great move in a way to quit while you are ahead with more than $9 million won for his first place win. This week Eastgate shocked the poker industry again with his intent to sell his 2008 WSOP main event bracelet, one of the biggest symbols of achievement in poker.

Peter Eastgate plans to give 100% of the profit to UNICEF a charity organization which helps aid children around the world with Health, Education and much more. The 2008 WSOP main event bracelet is still up for bidding for 10 days and ends on 25 November 2010

Current bidding price for the 2008 WSOP main event bracelet is $41,100.00, The item is described as white gold bracelet with 291 diamonds totaling 2.81ct and 168 grams of gold which was manufactured by Corum.

Team PartyPoker pro Tony G was one of the first to bid and increased the bid to $17,500, he plans to convert the WSOP bracelet into a collar for his dog Zasko to wear at the 2010 Aussie Millions event.

2005 WSOP Bracelet on EBAY

In January  2010 – T.J. Cloutier put up his 2005 WSOP bracelet for sale with bids starting at $2,999. Cake Poker won the bid and claimed the bracelet for $4,006. The WSOP bracelet was returned to T.J. Cloutier because Cake Poker believed it should be owned by the WSOP champion.

It is believed that T.J. Cloutier was having financial difficulty losing millions while playing Craps in Vegas Casinos, Cloutier has won more than $10 million in his poker tournament career earnings and is a 6 times WSOP champion.

Another poker player who is known for losing millions is Stu Ungar who won more than $30 million during his career and lost it all on Sports bets. When Ungar he was completely broke with no assets to his name.
