Americas Cup of Poker PokerSTARS - Americas Cup of Poker – ACOP, is a series of daily freeroll, $0.20 and $5.50 tournaments which takes place at PokerStars from the 27th July – 16th August 2009. Poker players from North and South America can enter these freerolls, players from around the world can also participate as wildcards to win for their country.

The qualifiers will determine which Eight teams will head to Argentina to play in a live tournament with a prize pool of $250,000

PokerStars Americas Cup of Poker – ACOP

Poker players from the 13 listed countries of North and South America can help their country get to the live event in Argentina at a ski resort in Bariloche. Earn points for your country by playing the daily freerolls and ($0.20 or $5.50) tournaments. Once the Group stages have completed the top two countries from each group (A,B,C and D) will get to the live final event in Argentina.

If you’re not from one of the countries above you can still enter as a wildcard. There are three freeroll tournaments taking place daily at 21:00 ET between 24th – 26th July 2009. The freeroll winners will determine which three countries will become wildcards and that country will be added to the group stages allowing their whole country to participate. Americas Cup of Poker Final (Live Event)

The Top 100 finishers in each group stage tournament will earn points for their country, the two countries with the most points earned from each group will make up the eight teams who will go to the final live event in Argentina. Each team will consist of five players, those who earned the most points for their country during the group stages. PokerStars will be adding one member from the PokerStars Pro Team to each eight qualifying teams.
