BodogPoker believe that players using the information are taking advantage of the casual poker players which often results in players not returning to the site.

Another big change which will affect their traffic, will be when Bodog Poker block USA Players at the end of the year when Bodog renew their gaming license they will no longer accept US players to play poker online at BodogPoker.

So next year we can expect to see Bodog Poker operating as a non USA Poker site with no option to use a poker hud or any software or website which used to mine data. I’m sure the poker community will have mixed feelings when the update comes into effect, some may argue that poker tools do not disadvantage other players, while casual players might feel safer playing online knowing that the sharks aren’t analyzing their playing style or gaining important information on them.

BodogPoker to Block Poker Tracking Software

bodogpoker bonus bodog pokerBodog announced their intentions to block all sites and software from tracking any data from the poker client, the new update will be released before the end of the year and several sites will no longer have access to Bodog Poker data including PokerScout, SharkScope and Poker Tabling Ratings.

Bodog Poker believe that poker tracking software is an unfair advantage for recreational poker players who don’t spend hundreds of dollars on poker tools, websites or software which may benefit or aid them in making decisions at the poker tables. Bodog Poker is the first online poker room to block all forms of data mining claiming it is a disadvantage to their casual players.

Nowadays many players are using online poker tools, some find it difficult to play poker online without the use of some sort of poker tracking software.

Download BodogPoker and play poker online in a safe and fair “shark free” environment, Bodog US players are welcome till the end of 2011.

PokerScout on BodogPoker Update

One of the downsides to blocking all the data from the poker client is that PokerScout, a website which monitors poker traffic from all the networks, will no longer be able to correctly offer important information such as average players online, cash table players or any network trends.

“PokerScout’s operation is largely unaffected by this move. Since launching in early 2006, PokerScout has forged its reputation by providing complete, unbiased data on the entire online poker market, and we will continue to do so. We are still listing traffic for all known poker sites and networks.

Our current traffic readings for Bodog are projections based on a combination of available data and known traffic patterns. While this data is more volatile than before, we believe it to be accurate on average. If it becomes necessary, we will simply publish estimates of Bodog’s traffic as we do for some other untracked sites.

Bodog asked to be completely removed from the PokerScout website shortly after Black Friday. This caused a dilemma, because we try to keep a cordial relationship with all online poker operators, but in the end we had no choice but to deny their request. Our duty to our readers to provide neutral and complete coverage of the market necessarily took precedence over the wishes of a single operator.

No operator other than Bodog has asked to be removed from our traffic rankings.

Despite Bodog’s assertions, PokerScout does not give any advantage to some players at the expense of others. Unlike some other websites, we do not track or publish individual player statistics. Many of our readers treat PokerScout as an industry scorecard, showing where the sites rank relative to each other and who is outperforming whom. Other readers drill down into more detail to see what games and limits are popular at the various sites. The data is available freely to everyone, and none of it gives any particular advantage to winning players. Bodog is the only operator to suggest that it does.”
