PHWAP’S BACK is a heart-warming story about Kevin Boudreau a poker player who suffered from a stroke while on a break in a 2013 WSOP tournament. He was rushed to hospital as his brain was hemorrhaging from an arteriovenous malformation in his brain.

Boudreau had the support from his family and poker friends who include: Peter Jetten, Gabe Patgorski and Mario Silvestri III.

In less than eighteen months Boudreau returns to the live poker tournament circuit and final tabled the first two tournaments he entered, proving he still has the skills dispute having physical and communication challenges.

Phil Hellmuth has another 2nd place finish in the 2011 WSOP, this time it’s not John Juanda preventing Hellmuth from winning his 12th WSOP bracelet. In Event #33: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better Championship, Hellmuth managed to survive a tough playing field of 168 players and was eventually defeated Heads-up against Eric Rodawig.

Phil Hellmuth misses his 2nd attempt at winning a bracelet at this years World Series of Poker, although we have only reached the half way mark of the 58 events in the series. So far Hellmuth has cashed more than half a million dollars for his two 2nd place finishes, not bad even though he hasn’t won Gold yet.

The WSOP 2010 main event winner is Jonathan Duhamel, the first Canadian to win a main event. The PokerStars player now joins the team of PokerStars bracelet winners which include Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, Peter Eastgate and Joe Cada.

On Saturday the November Nine played 11 hours until two players remained Jonathan Duhamel and John Racener, they played heads-up on Monday night to determine the 2010 WSOP main event champion.

Duhamel had a 6-1 chip lead on Racener going into the Heads-up match and finally won the WSOP bracelet and main event title for 2010.
